and CEO
A beneficiary of the generosity and benevolence of others, Kwodwo Larbi, born Mack Larbi, is the seventh of nine children; and that many children coupled with limited means saw Kwodwo and his kin face significant financial difficulties. He knew firsthand what poverty, lack, and deprivation were but with the support of his uncle, Dr. AFM Badoe, and some aunties, Kwodwo became a voice of reason and an advocate for the needy and poorest within society.
For the past nineteen years, Kwodwo Larbi has provided financial and material support to over two hundred individuals, and from his personal income has donated to many worthy causes. In addition, he has supported many young people and children in their quest for vocational education; in line with those initiatives, following their skills training, he networked to secure them some internships and job placements.
He has supported older people with critical medical and housing assistance and this typically has been behind the scenes. Following the COVID-19 pandemic of 2020, though, things took a different turn.
During a trip to his motherland, Ghana, to visit his family, Kwodwo was met with a horrid, grim sight – the plight of the elderly and many children, especially the orphaned; talented young people hooked on drugs and alcohol; and many school dropouts panhandling on the streets. All this wrenched his heart and moved him to found ‘The Larbi Foundation.’ He did the latter as well in part due to his already strong desire to promote growth and assist as many people as possible. The foundation aims to seek support from the larger community to help address the challenges faced by the needy and disadvantaged in society.
Kwodwo believes in the adage, “Give me fish, and I’ll fish for a day; teach me to fish, and I’ll fish for a lifetime.”
He aims to empower and equip many young people with the toolset needed to succeed and contribute meaningfully to society.
His undying passion and commitment have led to his unearthing a vision with the support of his immediate family, to establish TLF – where every child counts and none is left behind.
